Congratulations! " Let There be shall be showers of blessings" in our midst.
God Bless us ALL!
Please let me know of the upcoming event being held in southampton in December as we would like to attend. Its good to hear that things are happening in southampton once again and would like to attend more southampton goan events since we live in southampton. Many thanks.
Mrs Sabita Martins
As someone who has taken on the World Goa Day celebration, here in the UK for the past 3 years by having a Pilgrimage- Picnc to Aylesford in Kent, I can vouch for the amount of time, effort & money it takes to hold an event for the enjoyment of Goans. I can assure you, it needs a love for Goa & Goans to persevere in the face of resistance & lack of support. I would strongly urge the Goans in Southampton to encourage, help & support Roque & the other Goans who have come forward to do something positive to keep the Goan culture alive for Goans in Southampton. For too long, we have failed to unite as 'one' community & that is why we are now in danger of losing our dear Goa to non-Goans.
As we all know 'many hands make light work' & I hope many Goans in Southampton will rally round to help the Goan community there become a strong community. I wish you all every success!
You are all also very welcome to our next World Goa Day celebration at Aylesford in Kent scheduled for Saturday 27th August 2011.

I would also like to add my best wishes to your endeavours to mobilise the
Southampton Goans into doing something culturally together, as Goans. It's
fairly easy to organise dances each year which follow the same pattern of
loud music, dance and food. More effort needs to be made to encourage the
celebration of Goan culture and keeping it alive for future generations of
Well done on getting started and I wish you every success.
